Bank Holidays 2010

Our school will be closed on 17 March, 5 April, 3 May, 7 June, 2 August, 25 October.
Fees will not be refunded for public holidays.

Registration, Payment and Booking Procedure

Registration with our language centre is free of charge.  On receipt of the application form and a deposit of €200 we will send you confirmation on your place on the selected course and an invoice for the balance of fees.  The final payment must be made three weeks before beginning the course.  The deposit is non-refundable and is part payment of fees, not an additional charge.

Bank charges
We regret that any bank charges incurred by the school on your behalf will be passed on to you on arrival.

Cancellations
All cancellations must be made in writing. The cancellation date will be the date on which the Slaney Language Centre receives the written cancellation. We strongly recommend that you arrange insurance care to protect you against the possibility of cancellation through illness or accident.

Tuition or accommodation fees are not refundable if a participant arrives late or wishes to leave early from a course. The Slaney Language Centre will not refund any fees for absence or illness. Students on courses for 10 weeks or more weeks' duration may break their study for a holiday. The duration of the holiday, giving exact dates, must be stated when making the booking. There will be no refund for any absence or shortening of the duration of the course as a result of the holiday.

Visto
Per gli studenti residenti nella Comunita europea non e necessario il visto per entrare in Irlanda. Per i non nazionali provenienti dai paesi di Andorra, Antigua, Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Bolivia, Botswana, Brasile, Brunei, Canada, Cile, Costa Rica, Dominica, El Salvador, Fiji, Grenada, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Hong Kong, Islanda, Israele, Giappone, Kiribati, Lesotho, Liechtenstein, Malawi, Malesia, Mauritius, Messico, Monaco, Nauru, Nuova Zelanda, Nicaragua, Macau, Maldive, Norvegia, Panama, Saint Kitts e Nevis, Santa Lucia, Saint Vincent e le Grenadine, San Marino, Seychelles, Singapore, Isole Salomone, Sudafrica, Korea del sud, Swaziland, Svizzera, Tonga, Trinidad e Tobago, Tuvala, Stati Uniti, Uruguay, Vanuata, Citta del Vaticano, Venezuela, Samoa dell’ovest non e necessario il visto per entrare in Irlanda.

Per tutti gli altri paesi non membri della Comunita europea e necessario il visto. Per informazioni dettagliate, contattare l’ambasciata irlandese piu vicina e calcolare almeno 8 settimane per il procedimento della domanda di visto. Il Ministero di Giustizia irlandese prima di rilasciare un visto richiede ricevute del pagamento e una prova di essere in possesso dell’assicurazione medica e di viaggio. In caso di un rifiuto del visto, verranno rimborsate tutte le quote pagate (eccetto quella versata per il deposito). La frequenza e obbligatoria per tutti gli studenti con visto.

Visa Refusals
We will refund all prepaid money minus €150 for administration costs, on all visa refusals. Written proof of the visa refusal from the Embassy is required.  

Postponements
If you cannot attend your course, you may postpone it. All postponements must be made in writing. You have three months in which to inform the Slaney Language Centre of your new dates and pay the re-arrangement fee of €65. The Slaney Language Centre will hold all fees already received for the three month period. A course may only be re-arranged once.

Our Liability
The Slaney Language Centre reserves the right to alter prices, conditions and details without notice. The right is also reserved to decline any person at any time without liability. The Slaney Language Centre gives notice that all arrangements for transport, activities or for accommodation are made by the Slaney Language Centre as an agent upon the express condition that they shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of any defect in any vehicle or through the acts of default of any company or persons engaged in conveying the passenger, or in carrying out the arrangements of the programmes, or otherwise in connection therewith or of any family member. No responsibility is accepted for losses or additional expenses due to delays or changes in air, sea, rail, bus or other services, sickness, weather, war, quarantine, strikes, or other liability.

Teacher's Absence
In the event of a teacher's sickness or inability to travel to work due to unforeseen circumstances such as natural catastrophes the Slaney Language Centre will do their utmost to find cover as soon as possible. The Slaney Language Centre will not guarantee however, that immediate cover will be found and classes might gave to be put together or tuition canceled. No refunds will be made on these occasions.

Assicurazione (Medica e di viaggio)
Tutti i partecipanti devono essere forniti di assicurazione medica e di viaggio. I residenti nella Comunita europea dovranno farsi rilasciare il modulo EHIC fornito dall’ente per l’assistenza sociale locale prima di partire. Solo tale documento in caso di emergenza conferisce il diritto alla cura ospedaliera e la presenza di personale medico gratuitamente. L’assicurazione non copre alcun trattamento opzionale, medico o dentistico. Ogni persona che deve sottoporsi ad alcun tipo di trattamento medico, deve presentare un certificato medico e disporre del medicamento necessario in quantita sufficiente per tutto il periodo di permanenza. Si raccomanda inoltre di stipulare una polizza assicurativa per l’eventuale perdita dei pagamenti delle quote, la perdita di effetti personali, ecc., eventi questi che potrebbero accadere nel caso sia necessario cancellare una o piu prenotazioni o anticipare la partenza.

L’assicurazione della scuola fornisce una copertura per incidente/infortunio solo in base alle premesse della scuola stessa. Agli studenti non viene offerta copertura assicurativa per malattia, furto, danni o perdita di effetti personali. SLC inoltre non accetta alcuna responsabilita per l’avvenimento di tali fatti.

Language Levels
The SLC reserves the right to put up to nine students in a group in order to match language levels better.  This is an exception and not the norm. 
Should a student's level in any week not match any existing group, it will be pleased to provide the student 10 private lessons plus self-study activities. 

Troubleshooting
Should the occasion arise that you may require medical or dental treatment during your stay we can make an appointment with a reputable doctor or dentist. Please inform us about any medical condition that we may need to be aware of i.e. epilepsy, diabetes, pregnancy, etc.
