Bank Holidays 2010

Our school will be closed on 17 March, 5 April, 3 May, 7 June, 2 August, 25 October. Fees will not be refunded for public holidays.

Registration, Payment and Booking Procedure

Registration with our language centre is free of charge.  On receipt of the application form and a deposit of €200 we will send you confirmation on your place on the selected course and an invoice for the balance of fees.  The final payment must be made three weeks before beginning the course.  The deposit is non-refundable and is part payment of fees, not an additional charge.

Bank charges
We regret that any bank charges incurred by the school on your behalf will be passed on to you on arrival.

Cancellations
All cancellations must be made in writing. The cancellation date will be the date on which the Slaney Language Centre receives the written cancellation. We strongly recommend that you arrange insurance care to protect you against the possibility of cancellation through illness or accident.

Tuition or accommodation fees are not refundable if a participant arrives late or wishes to leave early from a course. The Slaney Language Centre will not refund any fees for absence or illness. Students on courses for 10 weeks or more weeks' duration may break their study for a holiday. The duration of the holiday, giving exact dates, must be stated when making the booking. There will be no refund for any absence or shortening of the duration of the course as a result of the holiday.

Visados
Los estudiantes de la UE no necesitan visado para ir a Irlanda. Los que no sean nacionales en los países: Andorra, Antigua, Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Belice, Bolivia, Botswana, Brasil, Brunei, Canadá, Chile, Costa Rica, República Dominicana, El Salvador, Fiji, Granada, Guatemala, Guayana, Honduras, Hong Kong, Islandia, Israel, Japón, Kiribati, Lesoto, Liechtenstein, Malaui, Malasia, Mauritania, México, Mónaco, Nauru, Nueva Zelanda, Nicaragua, Macau, Maldivas, Noruega, Panamá, San Cristóbal y Nieves, Santa Lucía, San Vicente y las Granadinas, San Marino, Seychelles, Singapur, Islas Salomón, Sudáfrica, Corea del Sur, Suazilandia, Suiza, Tonga, Trinidad y Tobago, Tuvala, Estados Unidos, Uruguay, Vanuatu, Ciudad del Vaticano, Venezuela y Samoa del Este no necesitan visado para ir a Irlanda.  

Todos los demás países que no estén en la UE necesitan un visado. Por favor, póngase en contacto con la embajada irlandesa para obtener información detallada y para permitirle un mínimo de 8 semanas para procesar su solicitud de visado. El Ministerio de Justicia Irlandés requiere la prueba del pago y del seguro médico y de viaje apropiados antes de expedir el visado. En caso de no concesión del visado, le devolveremos todos los pagos (excepto la fianza).La asistencia es obligatoria para todos los estudiantes con visado.

Visa Refusals
We will refund all prepaid money minus €150 for administration costs, on all visa refusals. Written proof of the visa refusal from the Embassy is required.  

Postponements
If you cannot attend your course, you may postpone it. All postponements must be made in writing. You have three months in which to inform the Slaney Language Centre of your new dates and pay the re-arrangement fee of €65. The Slaney Language Centre will hold all fees already received for the three month period. A course may only be re-arranged once.

Our Liability
The Slaney Language Centre reserves the right to alter prices, conditions and details without notice. The right is also reserved to decline any person at any time without liability. The Slaney Language Centre gives notice that all arrangements for transport, activities or for accommodation are made by the Slaney Language Centre as an agent upon the express condition that they shall not be liable for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity which may be occasioned either by reason of any defect in any vehicle or through the acts of default of any company or persons engaged in conveying the passenger, or in carrying out the arrangements of the programmes, or otherwise in connection therewith or of any family member. No responsibility is accepted for losses or additional expenses due to delays or changes in air, sea, rail, bus or other services, sickness, weather, war, quarantine, strikes, or other liability.

Teacher's Absence
In the event of a teacher's sickness or inability to travel to work due to unforeseen circumstances such as natural catastrophes the Slaney Language Centre will do their utmost to find cover as soon as possible. The Slaney Language Centre will not guarantee however, that immediate cover will be found and classes might gave to be put together or tuition canceled. No refunds will be made on these occasions.

Seguro (sanitario y de viaje)
Todos los alumnos deberían traer su propio seguro sanitario y de viaje. Los ciudadanos de la UE deberían obtener el formulario EHIC de su oficina de la seguridad social antes de salir de viaje. Esto solo le permite asistencia urgente gratis en hospitales y visitas a ciertos doctores. No cubre tratamientos electivos, médicos o dentales. Cualquier persona sometida a tratamiento médico debería traer un certificado médico y medicamentos suficientes para toda la estancia. Le recomendamos que contrate un seguro de pérdidas de dinero, efectos personales etc., en las que puede incurrir debido a la cancelación o salida anticipada.

El seguro de la escuela le proporciona cobertura únicamente para los accidentes o lesiones producidos dentro de las instalaciones de la escuela. SLC no asegura a sus alumnos ante enfermedades, robos, danos o pérdidas de efectos personales y SLC no se responsabiliza en caso de que se den tales hechos.

Language Levels
The SLC reserves the right to put up to nine students in a group in order to match language levels better.  This is an exception and not the norm. 
Should a student's level in any week not match any existing group, it will be pleased to provide the student 10 private lessons plus self-study activities. 

Troubleshooting
Should the occasion arise that you may require medical or dental treatment during your stay we can make an appointment with a reputable doctor or dentist. Please inform us about any medical condition that we may need to be aware of i.e. epilepsy, diabetes, pregnancy, etc.
